Goddess Craft — The Mother Beyond MotherhoodWhat does it mean to mother something?
Not only to give birth. Not only to raise children. Not only to fit inside the role women have traditionally been handed.
To mother can also mean to create, nourish, protect, sustain, restore, teach, build, and tend what matters.
This month, Goddess Craft turns toward The Mother Beyond Motherhood.
We’ll revisit Demeter through a different lens than we have before — not simply as the Mother archetype, but as the woman who stops feeding the world when grief, loss, and exhaustion make endless giving impossible.
We’ll spend time with Isis and Brigid, exploring creation, restoration, craft, sacred work, healing, and the many things women bring into the world that have nothing to do with biological motherhood.
And we’ll meet Frigg, who brings us into the difficult truth that love, foresight, and protection do not always give us control over the outcome.
Together, we’ll explore the difference between nurturing and self-erasure, care and obligation, love and over-responsibility, and the invisible labour women so often carry without realizing how much they are holding.
And we’ll ask:
What am I tending because it is genuinely mine to nurture — and what am I carrying because I was taught a good woman should?
Each Goddess Craft gathering stands on its own. There is never a need to “catch up” or to have attended previous circles.
