Whether you’re looking to get a head start on your Christmas shopping, enjoy some quality time with family and friends, or simply soak up the atmosphere, York at Christmas is a brilliant place to spend the day.York’s city centre comes alive for the festive season, with traditional Christmas market stalls filling the streets with twinkling lights, decorations and the sights and smells of Christmas. Browse the stalls for handmade gifts, festive decorations, local produce, sweet treats and unique Christmas presents, or warm yourself up with a hot drink while enjoying the bustling market atmosphere. There’ll also be plenty of time to explore York’s fantastic shops and wander through its historic streets, including the famous Shambles. With beautiful old buildings, Christmas lights and festive displays all around the city, it’s a great day out for members, friends and family of all ages.
The fun starts before we even arrive! Our coach will leave Durham County Hall at 8:00am, giving us a full day to enjoy everything York has to offer. To help get everyone into the festive mood, we’ll have a quiz and bingo on the coach journey, so there’ll be plenty of laughs and entertainment along the way.
