Offering Strategies for a Fracturing Trade Landscape

Georgetown Law and the Institute of International Economic Law are delighted to announce that the 20th Annual Global Trade Academy will take place in person on October 21-22, 2026, in Washington, DC, at the offices of King & Spalding.

International commerce is undergoing historic shifts. Multilateralism is under pressure, bilateral deals are proliferating, and the rules are being rewritten at the nexus of trade, technology, and national security—forcing organizations to adapt.

This milestone for our Institute’s premier executive education program has been completely redesigned to equip professionals with the strategic fluency required to navigate today’s increasingly fragmented global economy.

WHY ATTEND?

For two decades, the Global Trade Academy has served as an indispensable, fast-paced immersion in the legal, political, and economic forces shaping international trade.

  • Strategic Insights: Master cutting-edge policy changes, shifting supply chains, and emerging operational and regulatory risks.
  • Professional Connections: Meet and exchange views with leading experts and a diverse cohort of peers from across sectors and the globe.
  • Dynamic Experience: Learn in an intensive, interactive, in-person environment in the heart of the nation’s capital.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This program is designed to build cross-sector networks and strategic fluency. We welcome a diverse cohort of both rising professionals and seasoned leaders across:

  • Government & Diplomacy: Trade negotiators, policy analysts, diplomats, and economic officials (from both industrialized and transitioning economies).
  • Industry & Corporate: Corporate counsel, policy professionals, supply chain managers, and strategic consultants.
  • Legal Practice: Attorneys looking to deepen their international economic and trade law expertise (CLE credits will be available).
  • NGOs & IGOs: Professionals working at the intersection of international trade, governance, and development.

💡 Note: One need not be an attorney to attend. The curriculum is designed to be highly accessible and valuable to legal and non-legal professionals alike.
