Bringing together academics from the University of Melbourne and IISER Tirupati, the event will offer students an opportunity to explore exciting developments at the frontiers of science, hear directly from leading researchers, and learn about a new international Global Scholars Program for studying science across India and Australia.
Featured Speakers
Professor Andy Martin
Professor of Physics
Associate Dean (Research)
Faculty of Science, University of Melbourne
Professor Martin has extensive experience in condensed matter physics and quantum optics. His recent research focuses on areas including ultra-cold quantum gases and quantum systems using nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centres in diamond. His internationally leading research has demonstrated new ways of studying and controlling quantum systems through physical rotation.
Dr. Annapurna Devi Allu
Associate Professor, Department of Biology
Associate Dean-International Relations
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Tirupati
Dr Anu’s research focuses on plant stress biology, molecular genetics and plant adaptation to environmental challenges, particularly drought and heat stress, with potential applications in developing climate-resilient crops and improving global food security. She has also undertaken research at the University of Melbourne and CSIRO, contributing to international scientific collaboration.
