Glenn Jones first became known as a member of the rock group Cul De Sac before turning to solo acoustic work nearly three decades ago. He has released ten solo LPs and is regarded as one of the leading fingerstyle guitarists working in the American Primitive tradition. His most recent album, Vade Mecum, was recorded in March 2021 on Mount Desert Island, Maine, with longtime collaborator Matthew Azevado. The album draws on personal history and memory, with pieces referencing friends and mentors including John Jackson and Jack Rose.
Liam Grant is a New England guitarist and improviser also working in the American Primitive style, citing John Fahey, Robbie Basho, Peter Walker, and Glenn Jones as key influences. Since 2021 he has toured and recorded with Jones as well as fiddler Mike Gangloff (Pelt, Black Twig Pickers). His most recent LP, Prodigal Son (VHF Records), was released in early 2025 and was featured on NPR's Viking Choice, Wilco's albums of the year list, and the Quietus's Best of 2025. His debut LP, Amoskeag, came out in 2023 on Carbon Records and Feeding Tube Records.
