Join us for a free evening torch lit walk of your local Glendowie Stream that flows through Churchill Park. We should see native fish and eels that come alive at night, and enjoy exploring the native forest!
Hear from Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust about a special project to help restore native freshwater fish to Glendowie Stream Stream, supported by the Ōrakei Local Board and Auckland Council Healthy Waters.
Friends of Churchill Park will chat about the restoration mahi underway in this lovely reserve. Enjoy a hot cuppa and biscuits afterwards (extra bikkies if you BYO cup :)
Bring a torch, closed shoes and warm clothes. We will provide spare torches. Participants will need to be able to walk 800m across uneven ground with unformed track in places, and manage stairs/slopes.
Registration is essential as numbers are limited!
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time to sign in. If you are running late, please call/txt 021 0247 1893. If you are late you may not be able to take part.
Participants under 16 will need to be supervised by a guardian over 18. Children under five may attend only where their accompanying adult can maintain close supervision at all times and is able to safely carry or otherwise securely contain the child; participants who cannot meet this requirement will not be permitted to take part in this activity.
Cancellation policy: please cancel your spot via Eventbrite ASAP if you can no longer make it. If you are feeling unwell please let us know as soon as possible so we can give your spot to others.
Conditions permitting: postponement due to weather will be communicated via text or email.
