Join the Dunedin History Museum for a special opportunity to step into a rarely seen piece of Dunedin history at the Gladys E. Douglas Preserve. For one day only, visitors will have the opportunity to gather outside Gladys Douglas’ former home and take a final look at the property.Explore the exterior of Gladys’ historic home, the tennis court, and the beautiful surroundings of Jerry Lake while learning more about the remarkable woman whose generosity and vision left a lasting impact on Dunedin. We will also be honoring Bob Hackworth Jr.
The Museum’s Education Curator will be on site with a special collection of artifacts from the Douglas home and historic photographs offering a glimpse into Gladys’ life and legacy. Guests can enjoy light bites and refreshments from our generous sponsors: Lanes Lemonade, Bon Appetit and Lucky Lobster while taking in this unique setting and hearing more about the future of the preserve.
This portion of the property has never before been open to the public and will remain inaccessible until the expansion of the preserve is complete, making this a truly special opportunity to experience the property and honor Gladys before this chapter comes to a close.
While you’re visiting, take time to explore the public portion of the preserve and enjoy its beautiful landscape, wildlife, and horticulture.

This is an outdoor event, so please come prepared for the Florida elements. Sunscreen, bug spray, comfortable closed-toe shoes, water, and sun protection are recommended.
