This fall, our students are learning about community and what it means to give to others. Through our first annual Child-Led Philanthropy event, our students have chosen three organizations in our community to support and want to invite our neighbors to join them in making a difference.We invite you to be part of our fall giving event in two ways:
💛 Give the Gift of Early Learning
Make a gift to Hope Harbor Children’s Center’s nonprofit early learning and childcare scholarship fund. Your generosity helps expand access to high-quality care and early learning for children and families in our community.
💛 Join Us On Campus
Visit our new Hope Harbor campus, gather with neighbors, and help our students spread kindness through hands-on projects:
-Animal Protection Society of Friday Harbor: Make cozy blankets for dogs and cats who are waiting to be adopted.
-Art and Altruism: Work alongside our students to create handmade thank-you cards to give to community members, fundraise at holiday markets, and send to the generous donors supporting our scholarship fund at the San Juan Island Community Foundation.
-Canned food drive: Bring canned food to stock the local food bank and our Children's Pantry, supported by 36 Weekends, which delivers weekend nutrition to children who rely on school meals, helping families through the Thanksgiving season.
Through this event, children can practice empathy, develop a sense of belonging, and discover that small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in their community.
