About the Program:
What do beavers, salmon, and North Creek have in common?
A lot, it turns out!
Listen as University of Washington Bothell Professor Jeffrey Jensen shares his current research about salmon in North Creek and how they interact with beaver dams.
Watch the amazing new short documentary film, Betting on the Beavers. What happens when beavers move onto the UW Bothell campus on North Creek and reshape the wetlands? A new documentary follows a UW Bothell student’s capstone research as he explores how these ecosystem engineers can slow floods, improve water quality and create habitat for wildlife.
Watch the trailer here:
Learn how Adopt A Stream has installed Beaver Dam Analogs on North Creek to recreate some of the benefits that beavers naturally provide.
After the program hear from the Cast of AASF about the new Chinook Fund, and updates on the Stream Team- more details below.
