Tuscaloosa has invaluable uptapped resources, particularly within our arts communities. We think it’s a great time to build on that potential for our future by developing our own chapter of Girls Rock Camp. The first Girls Rock Camp was launched in Portland in 2001 with a dedicated mission of empowering girls through music. There are now local chapters all around the world, including Birmingham. Each summer, these chapters host camps to help young folks learn how to play instruments, write songs, and forge friendships. We want to do that here in Tuscaloosa. Our goal is to launch our first camp session in July 2027.But we need your help! So we’re holding an information session on Thursday, October 15, at in the Canterbury Episcopal Chapel Student Center (812 5th Ave) at 6 p.m. If you’re interested, please come. Even better, bring a friend!
