Detroit was built by women whose stories deserve to be remembered. Girls in the Graveyard brings them to life at Elmwood Cemetery.
During this guided walking tour, you’ll meet journalists, educators, activists, diplomats, designers, aviators, public servants and military pioneers who helped shape Detroit and beyond.
After the tour, stay and enjoy the cemetery as a place for reflection, remembrance and gathering. The reception will feature complimentary cider and baked goods from For the Love of Sugar, along with books available for purchase from Source Booksellers.
This year, guests will also be invited to contribute to a community memory book by sharing a story about a loved one buried at Elmwood. Together, these memories will create another way to honor the people and personal histories connected to the cemetery.

Tickets are $35 per person, with only 75 tickets available for each tour. Girls in the Graveyard tickets tend to sell quickly, so early registration is encouraged.

All ticket proceeds help cover event costs and support Outlier Media and the Historic Elmwood Foundation, the nonprofit partners behind Girls in the Graveyard.
