About this Event
Gintsugi brings her haunting and immersive world to the stage for an intimate live performance, joined by a special local support artist.
Blurring the boundaries between art-pop and post-rock, Gintsugi creates music that is at once fragile, cinematic and deeply atmospheric. Her songs move between intimate piano-led passages, hypnotic electronics, strings and unexpected textures, creating a sound that feels both otherworldly and intensely human.
For this special evening, Gintsugi will be accompanied by Orly Tay, bringing their own perspective and sound to the night.
An evening of intimate songwriting, hypnotic textures and beautifully strange pop/folk — from two artists creating their own worlds.
“A mesmerising blend of velvety, hallucinatory art/pop and a post-rock sound.” — EARMilk
“An extraordinary album by an emerging artist that deserves to be huge.” — Susan Sloan, Louder Than War
GINTSUGI
After a self-titled debut EP produced by Victor Van Vugt (Nick Cave, Beth Orton) and the album The Elephant in the Room co-produced with Beautiful Losers Records, Gintsugi releases on the 9th October her second EP Strangers, speaking to anyone who has ever felt like a stranger to themselves.
ORLY TAYLOR
Orly Taylor is a young singer-songwriter based in Edinburgh. With her intricate fingerpicking style, nostalgia-entangled lyricism, and a pure voice that carries to the back of the room, she creates a folk-infused sound with a smile. She is beginning to rise through the folk scene and make her way across the stages of Scotland.
