About this Event
Grants can feel like a black box — vague guidelines, long applications, and silence until a rejection (or acceptance) email shows up. This Gin & Topic pulls back the curtain.
We're bringing together working artists and someone who's actually sat on the other side of the table for a candid conversation about what makes a grant proposal get funded, and what quietly gets it passed over.
Meet the panel:
Charity Ponter, photographer and visual artist
Lillis Taylor, visual artist
Jessica Chriesman, documentary filmmaker
Viola Ratcliffe, Create Birmingham
Moderated by Jessica Moody, Continental Creative.
You'll walk away with:
- A real sense of what a compelling grant proposal looks like, from people who've written them and people who've reviewed them.
- Where to actually find grants worth your time.
- Best practices for strengthening an application before you hit submit.
- The common mistakes that sink proposals.
This is a panel discussion, not a workshop. Come ready to listen and bring your own questions. We'll open the floor for Q&A after the panel conversation.
