For more than 25 years, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings have stood as two of the most vital voices in American roots music. Since their early days in Nashville, the pair have crafted a sound defined by exquisite harmonies, aching simplicity and an unspoken musical connection that borders on the telepathic.
Welch’s breakthrough came when Emmylou Harris recorded her song Orphan Girl, leading to her acclaimed debut Revival and its follow-up Hell Among the Yearlings.
