A group of seabirds have gathered at the Threshold to prepare for a great migration, guided by instinct, memory and fragile hope. Across vast oceans, the Albatrosses, Shearwaters and Petrels must undertake a perilous journey to find the Southern Nesting Ground, a place of safety and renewal. Each tribe of birds brings their own stories and ambitions - some heroic and noble, and some opportunistic. What is clear though is that they can only hope to face this journey together, against considerable odds.
As they journey across vast oceans, the birds encounter strange signs in the sky - an approaching magnetic storm that begins to distort their senses, scatter their formation and test their trust in one another. Forced to make impossible choices, the flock splits: some turn back, some press forward, and others are lost along the way.
When the survivors finally reach their destination, they must reckon with the uncertain promise of a new home and what has been sacrificed to get there. Old bonds are tested, new ones tentatively formed, and the living learn to share space with hunger, memory, and absence. Balancing myth and ecological reality, the play explores survival, belonging, and the cost of moving forward when the world itself is changing.
