Interested in CFD but unsure how professionals set up simulations that produce reliable results? Join this two-hour hands-on Ansys workshop to learn the practical fundamentals of CFD. ⚠️ IMPORTANT: This is a hands-on workshop. To participate, you must bring a laptop with a working installation of Ansys. We'll cover common mistakes made in geometry preparation, meshing, boundary conditions, convergence assessment, and result validation, using demonstrations that show how setup choices directly affect outcomes. Afterward, you'll build and run a NACA duct simulation in Ansys Fluent, explore mesh refinement effects, and learn how engineers evaluate solution quality. We'll finish with a tour of free training resources, AI learning assistants, and pathways toward Ansys certifications. Light snacks and drinks will be included.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: This is a hands-on workshop. To participate, you must bring a laptop with a working installation of Ansys.
If you do not already have Ansys installed, download and install Ansys Student before the event and verify that it works by launching Ansys and creating a new simulation:

If you already have the full version of Ansys licensed through UCF, do not install Ansys Student. Instead, verify that your existing installation works by launching Ansys and creating a new simulation.
No time will be allocated during the workshop for software installation, licensing issues, or troubleshooting. Attendees without a working Ansys installation may not be able to fully participate in the hands-on Fluent exercise.
