Get Hired in New Zealand: Career Session for International Students & Grads

We get it, starting out in the New Zealand job market as an international student or grad is tough. It's a new market with different workplace expectations. You may not have a professional network here yet. Work rights add another layer to think about. Some employers don't immediately see the value of your international experience. Standard career advice rarely covers any of this… but we do.

You are invited to an evening that shows you how hiring really works in New Zealand. You'll find out why applications go unanswered, and interviews go nowhere, and what gets you noticed instead. You'll also learn what creates hesitation for employers, and how positioning, communication, confidence, and connection help you establish yourself in a new employment market. Kate Ross has spent 30+ years as a recruiter, interviewer, and hiring manager, so you'll leave with hot tips straight from the hiring side.

• How recruiters read your CV and LinkedIn, and what stops them scrolling
• Know what to say (and not say) in an interview
• The mistakes that cost graduates the offer
• For international students: a clear picture of the path from study to work in NZ
• A live Q&A for your questions

• You're in your final year of study
• You're a recent grad looking for your first role
• You're an international student or grad who wants to understand the NZ job market
• All students and graduates in New Zealand are welcome, domestic and international.
