About M**der on Vacation. . .
Sun, sand...and suspicious circumstances.
Retirement was supposed to be easy for former NYPD Chief Maury Gross-good food, baseball, and maybe a little peace and quiet. But thanks to his spirited wife Bobbi and her taste for "vacations to die for," relaxation is the one thing that never makes the itinerary.
In this collection of short crime stories, Maury and Bobbi crisscross the country in search of scenic views, fine dining, and a well-earned break from the past. Instead, they keep stumbling into trouble-dead bodies, shady characters, and mysteries that refuse to stay buried. Fortunately, Maury hasn't lost his touch. With a sharp mind, a dry wit, and a healthy appreciation for a good sandwich, he tackles each case with the instincts of a seasoned detective and the bemused patience of a husband along for the ride.
From seaside inns to mountain retreats, from wine country to small-town hideaways, no destination is safe from mischief-or from Maury's uncanny ability to spot what others miss. Along the way, the banter between Maury and Bobbi sparkles with humor and heart, turning every investigation into an adventure as entertaining as it is suspenseful.
Packed with clever twists, memorable characters, and a generous helping of laugh-out-loud moments, M**der on Vacation is the perfect read for mystery lovers who like their crime served with a side of charm.
Gerald Elias was thrust into the mystery world by his prizewinning 2009 debut novel Devil's Trill and has stayed there through many critically acclaimed books and stories. He also maintains a career as a professional violinist, conductor, composer, and teacher, having performed worldwide for decades. Creator of the Daniel Jacobus mystery series.
