About this Event
Held on September 30, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, this gathering is an offering of community, reflection and support. All proceeds will be donated to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society.
Truth and Reconciliation Day is an opportunity to honour the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities, and to acknowledge the ongoing impacts of colonialism on Indigenous peoples in Canada. It is also an invitation to listen, learn, reflect, and consider how we each participate in the ongoing work of reconciliation.
Kelly Commandeur will be hosting. We’ll begin with a grounding movement practice, creating space to arrive in our bodies, connect with the breath, and move with intention. From there, we’ll gradually settle into a cozy sound journey, allowing the practice to become quieter and more receptive.
This class is by donation, with 100% of proceeds going to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS). If you’re able to join us in person, a donation is always welcome, whatever amount feels accessible to you. If you can’t make it in person but would still like to contribute, donations to IRSSS are also warmly welcomed.
Come as you are.
