Program: Planning a Flower Cutting GardenSpeaker: Tessa Holmes, Estate Educator at Quivira Vineyards
Members and their guests are invited to arrive any time after 12:30pm to enjoy a cup of tea and socialize before the meeting. Non-member visitors are welcome to attend.
Tessa Holmes is the Estate Educator at Quivira Vineyards, where she manages the estate’s culinary gardens, leads garden education programs, and supports broader sustainability and conservation efforts across the property. She brings seven seasons of hands-on experience farming diverse agricultural systems, with a focus on mixed vegetables and cut flowers. Her work reflects Quivira’s broader commitment to responsible land and water management and to demonstrating how productive agriculture and biodiversity can coexist.
With experience spanning floral design, farm to table restaurants, natural resource education, and sustainable farming, Tessa views agricultural production as a powerful tool for ecosystem restoration and community building. She has had three seasons dedicated to cut flower production, including wholesale dahlia and peony farming. Floral design has become an important creative outlet for her and she is passionate about highlighting the role of florals in agriculture more broadly.
