The Healdsburg Garden Club will host a General Membership Meeting on September 21, 2026 between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. at the Villa Chanticleer Annex, 860 Chanticleer Way, Healdsburg, CAProgram: Growing Avocados in Sonoma County
Speaker: Jeffrey Pierce, UC Master Gardener Program of Sonoma County
Non-member visitors are welcome to attend.
Members and their guests are invited to arrive any time after 12:30pm to enjoy a cup of tea and socialize before the meeting.
Dr. Pierce currently practices high risk and surgical obstetrics in Martinez, CA, where he also teaches doctors in training at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center. In 2020, he started a sole-provider practice in lifestyle medicine, using the power of a whole-food, plant-based diet along with exercise and other lifestyle techniques to prevent, treat, and reverse chronic disease.
He and his family grow much of their own food and consider their garden a source of natural medicine. He will unravel thmysteries of which avocados grow best in our local community, and how to produce the best fruit.
