About this Event
Gayla 2026 will take place in the Wisconsin Ballroom, at the Concourse Hotel in downtown Madison. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and hosted wine/draft beer are included in the price of your ticket. Other refreshments are available for purchase at the bar. Entertainment for the night will include a drag performance and the presentation of our 2026 QLawyer of the Year Award. Be sure to bring some singles to tip your drag performers!
Proceeds from ticket sales will go to support QLaw programming throughout the school year. We look forward to seeing you all for a night of fun celebrating the LGBTQIA+ legal community!

What should I bring?
- Bring singles and tip your drag queens and your bartenders!!! We will have a limited cash box where you can get change, but please plan to bring your own cash.
When should I arrive, and what is the schedule of events?
- Gayla starts at 6:30. We will have about 40 attorneys from the community attending and networking with students from 6:30-8. Students-- please arrive on time, put your best foot forward, and don't be afraid to introduce yourself! The awards presentation will start at 8, and the drag show will start at 8:30. We have three fabulous drag performers this year! The event formally concludes at 10.
What will there be to eat and drink?
- There will be appetizers, but there will not be a full dinner served. Please plan accordingly. Also, beer, wine, and soft drinks are included with your ticket until we run out. (We particularly have plenty of beer.) Other beverages and beer/wine beyond our limit will be available for purchase.
What should I wear?
- Attire is semi-formal/cocktail. That said, please come as you are and as you're comfortable, and celebrate your queer joy!
