More about
The Cache County Christmas Car Project began in 2016 with one family, one van, and a community that came together to help a neighbor in need. After a local flight paramedic tragically lost his life in a plane crash, leaving behind his wife and three young children, Jason and Kristie Hansen learned that the family needed a vehicle that could safely accommodate three car seats. The Hansens had a Honda Odyssey they were preparing to sell, but instead, they called on friends and neighbors to help repair it, fill it with Christmas presents, and with a little help from Santa, gift it to the family. From that single act of kindness, the Christmas Car Project was born.
Today, the Cache County Christmas Car Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Nibley, Utah, dedicated to providing safe, repaired used vehicles to local families in need, completely free of charge. We believe reliable transportation is about far more than getting from one place to another. A dependable vehicle can mean getting to work, keeping a job, making it to medical appointments, taking children to school, buying groceries, and pursuing opportunities that once seemed out of reach. For the families we serve, a vehicle can provide independence, stability, peace of mind, and hope for a better future.Every vehicle we give away is made possible by the generosity of our community. Donated vehicles, financial contributions, volunteers, local businesses, mechanics, sponsors, and supporters all become part of the pit crew that helps put another family back on the road. What started with one van has grown into a community-driven mission that continues to change lives, one repaired car, one family, and one fresh start at a time.
