- Arts Connect Virginia - Based in Norfolk, Arts Connect Virginia harnesses the creative and healing power of the arts to combat loneliness and social isolation among older adults across the region. Through partnerships with senior living communities, healthcare facilities, and community organizations, they deploy skilled artists who facilitate workshops, performances, and creative engagement programs. Their work affirms that meaningful connection and creative expression are vital to healthy aging, and they serve as a bridge between the arts community and seniors throughout the greater Hampton Roads and beyond.(www.artsconnectva.org)
- Compact Canine Rescue - Compact Canine Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing small dogs (up to 20 pounds) across the mid-Atlantic region. They operate through an innovative in-home fostering model where volunteer foster parents nurture dogs until they find their forever families, ensuring each animal receives loving, individualized care. With a robust volunteer network supporting rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption efforts, they believe every dog deserves a second chance and a home that celebrates their arrival. - Dorm Faries - Dorm Fairies is a Virginia-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that removes a hidden barrier to college success: access to essential dorm supplies. They partner with college students across the country, asking awardees to register at their favorite retailers, then providing those crucial first-semester items through donor support. By addressing the gap that scholarships often miss, the everyday necessities that make dorm life functional and comfortable, they help students transition to college with confidence and stability.
