A Prairie Home Companion's Garrison Keillor coming to the Rio Theatre. An Evening with Garrison Keillor, with Heather Masse and Richard Dworsky. Loyal fans and those new to his audience will be entertained with Garrison Keillor’s quintessential humor, music, poetry and anecdotes in his classic baritone.
The thread that runs through is the beauty of growing old. Garrison has found graceful acceptance and real joy in life’s sunset, bringing celebration to the inevitable journey.
“Life is unjust and this is what makes it so beautiful. Every day is a gift. Be brave and take hold of it.”
With cheerfulness and wit, the natural storyteller has endured the decades. The familiar, decent characters of Lake Wobegon will undoubtedly be woven in to the evening, along with a limerick or two, and communal singalongs to lift the spirits.
“We are the last generation who knows all the words,” says Keillor. “When we’re gone, they’ll disappear.”
