We'll talk about choosing species suited to our local climate, why native plants support pollinators and wildlife, and how to care for them once they're in the ground (hint: usually a lot less than you'd think!).
The address is at the LEAF Community Garden (36501 Niles Blvd, Fremont), not the LEAF Urban Farm!
What to Bring
- Closed-toe shoes
- Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty
- A reusable water bottle (we have tap water)
- Sun protection (hat, sunscreen) as needed
- We provide tools, gloves, and guidance—no gardening experience required!
Parking:
- Use the eastern entrance (not Nursery Ave.) to the California Nursery Historic Park, the LEAF Community Garden is on your right side.
- There is ample parking inside this entrance.
Bike parking available at the garden.
Public Transit:
- AC Transit Bus 216 stops right outside the LEAF Community Garden. Take the Niles Blvd & Hillview Dr stop.
