About this Event
Get Ready for an Epic Garba Night!
Garba is a traditional folk dance originating from Gujarat in India and is especially associated with the celebrations of Navratri, one of the most vibrant festivals in the Hindu calendar. During Navratri, communities come together over several evenings to celebrate through prayer, music, colourful clothing and energetic group dancing.
Garba is traditionally performed in a circle, with dancers moving together to rhythmic music and clapping patterns. The circular formation represents togetherness, continuity and the cycle of life. Over generations, Garba has grown from a Gujarati tradition into a celebration enjoyed by people across India and around the world.
You certainly do not need to be an experienced dancer to take part!
Our Garba Night is designed to be welcoming to complete beginners as well as those who have enjoyed Garba for many years. Come along, watch, learn a few steps and join in whenever you feel comfortable. The most important part of Garba is not getting every step perfect—it is enjoying the music, celebrating together and being part of the atmosphere.
This event is about much more than dance. It is an opportunity for people from different communities, cultures, ages and backgrounds to meet one another, experience something new and enjoy an evening together.
Expect an atmosphere filled with lively traditional and modern Garba music, colourful outfits, plenty of dancing and a wonderful community spirit.
