Gallier Gatherings Book Club: The Last Madam
A little wine, a little scandal, and a whole lot of New Orleans history.
Join us for the November edition of Gallier Gatherings Book Club as we dive into the deliciously scandalous world of old New Orleans with The Last Madam: A Life in the New Orleans Underworld by Christine Wiltz.
Date: November 11th
Time: 6:00–7:30 PM
Wine is included!
Meet us for an evening of wine, lively conversation, and the kind of history that proves New Orleans has always had a few secrets up its sleeve.
Our November read introduces us to Norma Wallace, the infamous madam who built a lavish French Quarter brothel frequented by politicians, gangsters, movie stars, and some of the city's most powerful—and questionable—characters. From dangerous romances and unlikely husbands to political corruption and the Crescent City's best-kept secrets, Wallace's extraordinary life is packed with drama worthy of its own miniseries.
We'll be discussing the book, sharing our thoughts, and diving into all the scandalous details that made old New Orleans so deliciously complicated. Expect great company, a glass of wine, and conversation that might just leave you saying, “Wait… WHAT?!”
