“Braving the Cut Blocks” is a photographic exploration that delves into the world of tree planting, capturing the profound personal transformations that occur within this challenging and dynamic environment. As a photographer, my work is driven by the intersection of nature and mental health. Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand how the demanding nature of tree planting, from the physical exertion to the mental resilience required, fosters deep personal growth and transformation.
The exhibition features a series of intimate portraits and landscapes that highlight the raw, unfiltered experiences of tree planters. Each image tells a story of perseverance, community, and the quiet, transformative power of the wilderness. The theme of personal transformation is at the heart of this project. Beyond the environmental impact, tree planting is a journey of self-discovery and resilience. The physical demands, the camaraderie among planters, and the connection to the land all contribute to a profound internal journey.

Artist Biography
Jeremie is a strong portrait photographer with a unique focus on unique personal photography project. Over the past nine seasons, Jeremie has worked as a catskiing photographer at the Gostlin Keefer Lake Lodge, capturing exhilarating powder shots and the vibrant spirit of the people who brave the backcountry mountains. In addition to its work in the backcountry, Jeremie is also known for creating the "Men in Tubs" calendar, a project that ran for five years and contributed to mental health initiatives by donating a portion of the proceeds.
Jeremie's latest project, "Braving the Cut Blocks," delves into the world of tree planting, highlighting the profound personal growth and resilience that come from this challenging work. Through raw imagery, the exhibition invites viewers to explore the intersection of cut blocks and personal transformation.
