Biography:
Galina Umanskaya, a pianist of the Moscow school tradition, received her early musical education from Prof. Dmitry Lyudkov of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. She later continued her studies in London at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, graduating with First-Class Honours for her Bachelor’s degree and receiving the prestigious TCL Scholarship. Most recently, she completed a Master’s degree with Distinction at Trinity Laban, studying with Prof. Mikhail Kazakevich. She is currently refining her artistry under the guidance of Prof. Ludmila Berlinskaïa in Paris.
Galina has further developed her musical voice through masterclasses with renowned artists including Prof. Margarita Fyodorova and Artur Ancelle.
A laureate of international piano competitions across Spain, Russia, Hong Kong, Germany, Turkey, Belarus, South Korea, and Italy, she has also appeared at festivals in Russia, Spain, and Greece. Her orchestral collaborations span the UK, Spain, and Russia.
Among her recent achievements are two appearances at the Global Artists Debut concerts at Carnegie Hall (2023 and 2025), a performance at Salle Cortot in 2025, and the organisation of a charity concert in support of Armenia at Pushkin House, London. She is currently active as a solo performer in the United Kingdom and France, regularly appearing in recitals.
Her repertoire ranges widely across historical periods and styles, encompassing works by Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Liszt, Brahms, Scriabin, Prokofiev, Stravinsky, and Messiaen.
