About this Event
International student recruitment is increasingly being treated as an “agent issue”. But UK law makes it clear that universities cannot outsource accountability.
This symposium brings together senior leaders across international, compliance, governance and finance to examine the practical implications of three key statutes for UK higher education institutions:
- UK Bribery Act 2010
- Criminal Finances Act 2017
- Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023
Across all three, the common thread is simple: where third parties act on an institution’s behalf, liability can return to the institution unless it can evidence robust prevention procedures.
What to expect
A structured, high-trust discussion focused on real-world risk points in recruitment, payments, partnerships and incentives, followed by practical guidance on what “reasonable procedures” look like in an international recruitment context.
Who should attend
Senior university leaders and decision-makers with responsibility for international recruitment, governance, compliance, procurement, finance, admissions and risk.
Tickets are limited to 2 per institution/organisation.
Optional drinks will be held close by after the symposium until 18:30
