On July 25th 2025 INTELLIGENT MISCHIEF will launch Futures of Repair an interactive immersive art experience. It will consist of a multi-media interactive immersive art experience exploring the future world made possible by Reparations and a burgeoning Culture of Repair.
On 2165 Earth 125 years after a global wave of reparatory actions and initiatives the world has been transformed to a place of healing transformation and widespread repair. In this world Black and Indigenous people are afforded the opportunity to repair relationships with themselves their communities systems of governance and economics the land the cosmos and their ancestors and descendants yet to be born. This future world is inspired by a series of six community world building labs and peoples assemblies. Attendees of the experience will interact with mutli-sensory art works and enjoy a selection of restorative tea blends while engaging in dreaming imagining collaborative art making and more.
This experience is being brought to life in collaboration with Mia Imani Harrison (curator and Project Fellow) and a cohort of leading Afro-futurist artists and designers including Alisha B. Wormsley American Artist Ari Melenciano Nu Goteh Rory Scott and Terence Nance.
Throughout the experience we will also curate programming intended to cultivate a culture of repair including but not limited to:
- Author talks and book launches related to Reparations repair and social healing
- Artist presentations
- Poetry readings
- Skill Building Workshops and Trainings
- Guided dreaming imagination and meditation
- Social events and activations
- Collaborative art making
- Restorative yoga and somatics
- Reparations Clinics
