Mary Sinclair Gibson

Fashion Designer
Mary Sinclair Gibson is a womenswear designer and illustrator based in London.
Over the course of Gibson's career, she has designed for several high street brands, such as Karen Millen, H&M, and Marks and Spencer. She holds a Master of Arts in Pattern & Garment Technology from the London College of Fashion, where she honed her skills in 3D design software and traditional pattern cutting techniques. Her Master’s project focused on designing contemporary adaptive clothing for individuals with musculoskeletal conditions, showcasing her commitment to innovation and inclusivity in fashion.
Gibson describes her illustrations as 'minimalist, hyperrealist fashion illustrations' which she uses as a form of mindfulness. Her pencil technique explores an intricate play on light and shadow reminiscent of chiaroscuro. Gibson's work primarily centres around womenswear, ready-to-wear and haute couture, with a detailed focus on the garments as well as the individuals who wear them. Her fashion illustrations gained recognition in 2017 when they were featured in Drapers Magazine’s 'Stars of Tomorrow' feature, documenting Graduate Fashion Week.
