Open-Weave Glass BasketsNovember 14 & 15 | 10:00 AM–1:00 PM
Explore texture, shape, and open-weave design as you create beautiful fused-glass baskets. Register for Day 1, Day 2, or both! Each day features a different basket project—join us for the design that inspires you, or enjoy both sessions to create two unique pieces.
Day 1: Textured Lattice Basket
Learn glass cutting and shaping while designing and building a square basket from textured glass strips arranged in a lattice-weave pattern. Explore how to plan a balanced design, layer glass for dimension, and use texture to create light-catching details. Your piece will be kiln-fired after class and shaped into a square bowl.
Day 2: Organic Woven Basket
Create a larger, more sculptural glass basket using smooth glass and flowing, organic forms. Experiment with gentle curves, open spaces, and layered color to create a one-of-a-kind functional art piece with an airy, woven look. You do not need to attend Day 1 to participate in Day 2.
Whether you join us for one day or both, you’ll explore a playful, less traditional approach to fused glass. Each basket will be uniquely yours, shaped by your choice of color, texture, and design. No previous fused-glass experience is necessary—guidance and materials are provided for each session.
