funke expo 19.11 - 21.11"neerwaartse druk" by lotte thierens and sakshi gera
----------
Sakshi Gera is a visual artist from India based in Gent. Her work explores repetition through drawings, handpoke tattoos and collages, using found materials, and repetition as a way of thinking. Lotte is a printmaker and architect based in Ghent. She translates the built environment into abstraction, by exploring rhythm, structure, texture, and colour. Fragments of space are deconstructed and reworked into layered surfaces and compositions.
This exhibition shows how both practices intersect through an ongoing exploration of material, pressure, and transformation.
Through processes of playing and testing, we allow the material and printing processes to guide, resist, and reshape our intentions. Each interaction becomes an act of action and reaction, where pressure produces movement, tension, and unexpected forms.
Rather than working towards a fixed outcome, we remain attentive to what emerges. Texture becomes both a physical quality and a trace of this encounter—a record of pressure, movement, resistance, and change. Together, our works occupy a space of experimentation, where difference and resonance meet through a shared language of making.
Neerwaartste druk reflects this ongoing negotiation between force and resistance, intention and chance, control and transformation.
