Please note that this event is part of Yorkshire Fungi Festival, a must be purchased alongside booking for this event, either online in advance or in person on the day.
Learn how to identify a variety of seasonal fungi and other interesting autumnal finds as you wander through Potteric Carr on this guided walk.
Along the way, discuss safe and sustainable foraging practices, including the edible and medicinal potential of different species. Suitable for beginners and anyone with a curiosity about the incredible diversity of fungi.
Please note, we are a SSSI site so have a 'no take' foraging policy; however you will be shown tips and tricks for how to find your own Fungi out in the wild and what you could do with them. Andrea, our expert leader will be able to answer any foraging related questions you may have.
This guided walk is 1.5 hours long.

Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
What to bring/wear
This event takes place outdoors, so come prepared for the Yorkshire weather! We'd recommend sturdy and waterproof footwear or wellies, and lots of layers.
Toilets and catering
Accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are located in our visitor centre . Wholesome lunches and homemade cakes are available in our welcoming café, located in our visitor centre. Toilets are also available in the education centre where some activites are taking place

Please sign in and wait for us at the visitor centre.
Parking
Free parking is available at Potteric Carr nature reserve. We can get busy at times, there is alternative parking on the other side of the road to our main entrance or park in the park and ride near Morrisons.
