Event Information
Join us for our second event of the year, and first event in sunny Aberdeen! We are keen to hold more sessions across Scotland to connect with more fellow events and community fundraisers, so are really excited to be hosting a session on events and community fundraising in the North East. We'll be discussing success stories, challenges and thoughts for the future of fundraising in the region.
The session will include opportunities for audience interaction and discussion, breakout chats, and time for a Q&A. Attendees should expect practical detail, real-life examples, and plenty of opportunities for sharing ideas and having meaningful discussions together.
Session Highlights
- A welcome from the Committee Chair, Lexy Graham, including a quick update on upcomng opportunities.
- A welcome from AXV Audio Visual, who are kindly sponsoring the audio visual and hybrid meeting technology at the event.
- A session from Erica Banks, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Friends of ANCHOR, discussing their 'Brave' and 'Courage on the Catwalk' events and how they have built success over the past decade.
- A session from Carol Kennedy, Centre Fundraising Manager at Maggies, discussing their incerdible Culture Crawl event, learnings they have taken from it and how to make it bigger and better in the future.
- A session from Danielle Dyce, Fundraising and Marketing Executive and Louise Murray Fundraising and Marketing Executive at SensationALL, about thier events and community fundraising activity.
- After a short break, we'll host a panel Q&A with our speakers and have time for from group discussion.
Timings
- Registration from 13:45 for a 14:00 start.
- Short comfort break.
- Event finished by 17:00.

Cost
This session is FREE if you are already an CIoF member. If you're not a member, the session costs £10. Unfortunately, we won't be able to offer on the day tickets, so please ensure you book your place before 17:00 on Monday 5 October to avoid disappointment.
For access to great benefits and all CIoF SIG sessions for free, why not sign up to be a member of the CIoF for just £9.75 per month, or £127 per year?
All CIoF members should bring along their membership card or a note of their membership number. Students should also bring their student card with them if they have booked a free student ticket.
Refunds are available up until 7 days before the event. Please get in touch with us as soon as you can if you can no longer attend.
Refreshments
We are providing tea, coffee, water and biscuits during the session. We encourage you to bring your own reusable cup or flask if possible.
Please also let us know of any dietary requirements in advance so that we can provide suitable milk alternatives. You will be prompted to do so when booking your ticket.
Social Event
After the session, we are hosting a social at the Old School House, Little Belmont Street, AB10 1JG. Guests are to pay for their own drinks and food. This is optional, but we'd love to speak to you all for more chats and to enjoy some yummy food! Please make sure you book your free social event ticket to help us manage numbers.
Hybrid Option
Although we would love to see you in person, we will also be hosting a live hybrid option for those who cannot travel to Aberdeen. It will be hosted on Zoom, and we'll share joining details with online attendees in an email a few days before the event.
The Venue and Accessibility
The main entrance is on Union Street, where there is a ramp from street level to the main entrance. There is a lift available inside the venue.
