In support of National Heart Month this February, my husband and I have decided to host a fundraising brass band concert. As many of you will know, I was diagnosed with heart failure the day before the birth of my daughter. What should have been one of the happiest times of our lives quickly became one of the most frightening, and I ultimately needed a heart transplant.
We’re hoping to raise money for the Golden Jubilee Hospital’s research facility, supporting research into heart failure.
The concert will bring together some fantastic brass musicians from Scotland’s finest brass bands, performing a programme of music that we both love and that holds a special meaning for us.
For us, this is about more than just a concert. It’s an opportunity to give something back to the team and the research that make second chances possible.
Every ticket purchased and every donation made will help us support this important cause. Whether you’re a brass band enthusiast, a music lover, or simply want to support a cause that can make a real difference, we would love to see you there.
