Fundamentals for social dancing. Understand a little of the culture and history, along with the basics of the dynamic embrace, connection, communication, walking and musicality. This will be enough to get you out on the social dance floor! There are a variety of local opportunities for further study and social dancing here in Asheville.
Wear comfortable clothes and leather or suede bottom shoes, or socks.
Karen Jaffe lives near Asheville, NC. In her nearly 30 years of dancing Argentine Tango, she has supported dancers and communities through offering countless classes and social dances along with organizing dozens of full weekend events with exceptional guest teachers. She travels extensively to continue her own education and to teach, DJ and perform. She continues to study with numerous masters and is fortunate to work with a variety of skilled partners, evolving both as a dancer and a teacher. She is well known for her skilled, engaging, and musical dancing in both roles, and for her easygoing, fun and playful energy.
