Info: This course provides a practical, operational framework for staying aggressive while avoiding the conditions that force a Mayday. Modern fire environments demand speed, precision, and confidence. Firefighters must push interior operations while simultaneously managing the risks that lead to maydays — disorientation, entrapment, air depletion, and structural collapse. Participants will learn how to integrate risk based decision-making, crew coordination, and situational awareness into fastmoving interior operations. The focus is not on slowing firefighters down but making crews smarter, sharper, and harder to trap.

Info: Danny’s Story presents real life challenges and leadership mistakes that lead to an LODD. As a young officer, I was confronted with lots of employee issues, but only one completely changed the way i led crews going forward. Common everyday circumstances and my unwillingness to confront unpreparedness my lack of experience as a leader coupled with a mindset of “he’s transferring somewhere slow anyway” and “someone else can train him again” led to an unfortunate situation where a life was lost because of being unprepared for the fireground.

Info: This session takes a detailed look at the ins and outs of fire department
budgeting and finance. It covers, in specific detail, where the money comes from, where it goes, and why there never seems to be enough of it. This class will address some best practices on how to communicate financial realities to your employees to help them better understand your specific budget constraints and it also includes helpful hints for those who are or who aspire to be involved in their department's budget development and management process.

Info: This class helps to answer the question of “how do I get my crew engaged?” Through proven techniques this class will show you how to set the example, get the crew involved, and become the “doers” on the fireground. Every department, every shift, has that special set of people that the Fire Chief knows will get the hard things done. This class will help show you the way.

Info: This lecture focuses on the critical first minutes of residential structure fires, using real-world data and modern research to drive decision making. Through interactive discussion and scenario-based thinking, firefighters will refine how they prioritize, coordinate, and execute search operations when it matters most.

Info: This presentation takes an unfiltered and unapologetically honest look at today’s fire service and challenges leaders to take account of their own actions and responsibility in the creation and correction of this persistent sense of entitlement and negativity. We will explore different concepts, behaviors, attitudes, and practices that can be employed by leaders at all levels to combat negativity, and encourage initiative, and foster a sense of mutual respect and appreciation rather than an us versus them mentality.
