Clients' Reviews - “I especially love the yin-yang yoga class as it strikes a lovely balance of strength and softness. After a few group classes, I decided to have regular private sessions with Manlee” — Janet J.
- “Manlee's yin-yang yoga class is what started it all for me. I walked in thinking yoga was about doing poses, but she showed me it's really about how deeply you can connect with your own body through them. She never pushes, yet somehow I find myself moving into poses I once thought were not for me, not because I'm trying to achieve something, but because I've started to actually listen to my body. Thank you Manlee, you're truly inspiring!” — Sam T.
- “Manlee’s yoga classes are excellent. I really enjoyed every sessions with Manlee, particularly the Yin-Yang Yoga and Stretch classes! ” — Alice C.
- “Manlee’s class was excellent in both content and energy. Her yin yang yoga is beautifully balanced, with the right mix of movement, stillness and mindful guidance. I would highly recommend her yoga classes and would love to attend more of her yoga workshops.” — Nicole S.
The Full Moon Series was born from a simple but profound observation: that the body already knows what the season is asking of it.
We are rhythmic beings, attuned to the same cycles as the tides, the moon, and the turning of the year. And yet most of us move through these thresholds without pausing long enough to feel them.
This Full Moon Mindfulness Yin-Yang Yoga Retreat exists to change that.
24 October 2026 carries a particular weight. It is the last day of British Summer Time, the final evening when the clocks still hold the illusion of a longer day.
By morning, the shift will have already happened.
The dark will have arrived earlier.
The season will have crossed its threshold quietly while most people slept.
But here, in this mindfulness yin-yang yoga retreat, you will be awake for it. Present for it. Moving through it with your whole body, your breath, and your full attention.
By aligning the yoga practice with the actual arc of the light, beginning as the afternoon sun still holds warmth and unfolding as it lowers toward the horizon, Manlee creates something that is more than a regular yoga class. It becomes a lived, embodied experience of transition. A yoga practice that does not simply occur near the full moon, but one that genuinely moves with it, breath by breath, posture by posture, from the last of the light into the first of the stillness.
What makes this experience distinct is Manlee’s rare ability to hold both the energetic and the somatic with equal care.
The Yang half of the practice is not simply warm-up. It is an intentional act of gathering, of drawing the sun’s energy into the body with reverence and full presence before the season asks you to let it go.
And the Yin half is not simply stretching. Held in the live acoustic resonance of 100% handmade Tibetan Full Moon Singing Bowls, played in the room by Manlee herself, it becomes a deep and genuine act of surrender.
These are not recorded, amplified, or commercially produced instruments. They are 100% handcrafted bowls whose vibrations move through the space and through the body in the most immediate, unmediated way possible, accompanying each long-held posture the way the moon accompanies the tide: without force, and with extraordinary power.
The natural essential oils woven throughout the session work at a sensory level that bypasses the thinking mind entirely, grounding the experience in the body rather than the intellect.
And the closing guided meditation, offered in the deep quiet that only genuine movement and sound can create, gives you the inner space to truly receive what the practice has prepared you for.
You will leave this weekend mindfulness retreat not simply relaxed, but genuinely marked by the threshold you have crossed. Lighter in the places that needed releasing. Steadier in the places that needed grounding. And quietly, unmistakably, more at home in yourself than when you arrived.
This is not an ordinary yoga retreat in Newbury. This is a full moon ceremony held on the mat.
What Awaits You?
Grounding Breathwork Before Sunset | Root Before You Rise
As 4:30PM arrives and the afternoon light begins its final descent, the practice opens with grounding breathwork designed to bring you fully into the present moment and into your body.
This is your anchor. Before the movement, before the flow, before the surrender, the breath draws you down into the earth, quietening the noise of the day and preparing your whole system to be truly present for what is about to unfold.
Arriving at the threshold of this seasonal turning point fully grounded changes everything that follows.
Gentle Vinyasa Flow and Sun Salutations | Rise with the Last of the Light
With the breath as your foundation, the practice moves into approximately 30 minutes of gentle Vinyasa flow and sun salutation sequences, carefully curated to honour the remaining warmth and light of British Summer Time.
This is not a vigorous power flow. It is a conscious, unhurried celebration of the sun’s energy, moving through the body with gratitude and presence.
Each salutation is an act of acknowledgement, a quiet thanksgiving for every bright morning and long evening of the season that is now drawing softly to a close.
As the light outside begins to lower, the flow follows. The pace softens. The transitions lengthen. And the body, having gathered all it needs from the Yang, begins to feel the natural pull of stillness.
Restorative Yin Postures with Tibetan Full Moon Singing Bowls | Rest Under the Moon
As the sun yields to the horizon, the practice yields to the earth.
Approximately 30 minutes of carefully chosen Yin postures invite the body into its deepest, most unhurried release. Held postures melt tension from the connective tissue, the hips, the spine, and the places where the year’s weight tends to quietly settle.
Throughout this half of the practice, Manlee plays 100% handmade Tibetan Full Moon Singing Bowls, their pure acoustic resonance filling the space with sound that is both ancient and deeply present. These are not recorded, amplified, or commercially produced.
They are handcrafted instruments whose vibrations move through the room and the body in the most immediate, unmediated way possible, accompanying each long-held posture like a second breath.
Under their sound, the body softens. The nervous system exhales. And the full moon, rising outside, seems to do exactly what it has always done: draw the tides gently home.
100% Natural Essential Oils & | The Scent of the Threshold
Thoughtfully selected to reflect the warmth, earthiness, and quiet depth of the October turning point, 100% natural essential oils are woven throughout the session to cleanse, ground, and restore.
Their therapeutic aromas work in quiet harmony with the movement, the sound, and the stillness, deepening your experience of the practice at a sensory level that bypasses the thinking mind entirely.
This is the full moon arriving not just in the room, but in the body, through every sense at once.
Guided Meditation | Receive the Moon’s Medicine
As the retreat draws to a close and the full moon holds the sky, Manlee guides you into a gentle, immersive meditation that invites you to receive what the yin-yang yoga practice has prepared you for.
This is the stillest part of the evening, and perhaps the most profound. In the deep quiet that follows movement, breath, and sound, the inner landscape becomes spacious and clear.
Whatever this turning season is asking you to release, to receive, or to simply acknowledge, this meditation creates the sacred inner space to meet it, fully and without resistance.
You will leave not only restored, but genuinely marked by the threshold you have crossed.
Everyone Welcome: Yoga retreats and sound experiences are widely considered safe for most people. We kindly ask that you notify us beforehand should you have any medical implants, be currently pregnant, or have any particular health conditions, so that we may ensure your experience is comfortable, safe, and truly nourishing.
Small Group: Each Full Moon Retreat is intentionally kept to a small group of no more than 10 participants, creating an intimate and genuinely connected atmosphere where every individual feels seen, held, and fully supported from the first breath to the last.
In a space this size, the practice deepens differently. The sound travels more personally. The stillness becomes something shared. And the threshold of the season is crossed not alone, but together.
Private yoga and sound healing sessions with Manlee are also available upon request.
Supportive and Safe Space: This Full Moon Mindfulness Yin-Yang Yoga retreat is guided by the theme of Rise and Restore, a full moon threshold ceremony held at the turning of the season.
A warm, welcoming, and unhurried space is created where you are free to move at your own pace, rest when your body calls for it, and open as fully as feels right for you.
There is no comparison here, and no pressure. Only a shared and supported invitation to honour the light, welcome the stillness, and arrive fully at the threshold of what comes next.
