Step into the quiet of the night and experience Lydick Bog Nature Preserve beneath the light of the full moon.As darkness settles over the bog, the landscape takes on a different character. Familiar trails become shadowed paths, sounds carry through the stillness, and the moon casts a soft glow across the surrounding wetlands. Together, we’ll explore Lydick Bog after dark, pausing along the way to listen, observe, and take in the subtle signs of life that emerge as day gives way to night.
We’ll reflect on the natural and cultural significance of the moon, learn about the nocturnal life of the bog, and discover how the landscape changes when experienced under a different kind of light.
This evening hike is an invitation to slow down, leave the distractions of the day behind, and reconnect with the wonder of the night. Come wander beneath the full moon and see Lydick Bog as you’ve never seen it before.
