🩸 FRONTERROR FILM FEST IS HERE! 🩸
Laredo Film Society’s annual horror short film challenge and showcase has officially evolved into a full-on film festival. FRONTERROR FILM FEST brings together original horror shorts from filmmakers across the Texas–Mexico borderlands for a night of blood, suspense, practical effects, DIY filmmaking, and all the things we love about the slasher genre.
This year’s theme is SLASHER ERAS, exploring the evolution of the slasher genre across the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. From the experimental beginnings of the genre, to the camp and gore of peak slasher franchises, to the self-aware and character-driven slashers of the ’90s, FRONTERROR celebrates the many ways filmmakers have made the slasher their own and invites a new generation of border filmmakers to do the same.
FRONTERROR is a bilingual festival! Films in English will have Spanish subtitles, and films in Spanish will have English subtitles.

🩸 ¡FRONTERROR FILM FEST YA ESTÁ AQUÍ! 🩸
El reto y muestra anual de cortometrajes de terror de Laredo Film Society se ha convertido oficialmente en un festival de cine. FRONTERROR FILM FEST reúne cortometrajes de terror originales de cineastas de toda la frontera entre Texas y México para una noche de sangre, suspenso, efectos especiales prácticos, cine DIY y todo lo que nos encanta del género slasher.
El tema de este año es ERAS DEL SLASHER, una exploración de la evolución del género slasher a través de los años 70, 80 y 90. Desde los inicios experimentales del género, pasando por el camp y el gore de la época de las grandes franquicias, hasta los slashers autoconscientes y centrados en los personajes de los 90, FRONTERROR celebra las muchas formas en que los cineastas han hecho suyo el género e invita a una nueva generación de cineastas de la frontera a hacer lo mismo.
¡FRONTERROR es un festival bilingüe! Los filmes en inglés tendrán subtítulos en español, y los filmes en español tendrán subtítulos en inglés.
