The Bottom Line was where American music history happened up close. From 1974 to 2004, the roughly 400-seat club at 15 W. Fourth St. in New York’s Greenwich Village gave artists an intimate stage and put audiences just feet from the music. In August 1975, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band famously played a five-night run, just before the release of Born to Run. Those shows helped introduce him to a much wider audience. On Saturday, Oct. 24, filmmaker Thom Zimny opens the vault on rarely seen footage of Springsteen’s performances at The Bottom Line, as part of the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music’s From the Vault series. In the spirit of the club’s two-shows-a-night tradition, there will be two showings, each with different music and footage.
Each showing is $40.
