Zoltán Kodály - Dances of Galánta
Billy Childs - Diaspora: Concerto for Saxophone and Orchestra (Belgian premiere)
Antonín Dvořák - Symphony No. 9
In Diaspora, Billy Childs creates a deeply evocative concerto in which the saxophone speaks as a travelling voice. Steven Banks gives this voice warmth, nostalgia and a strong sense of individual presence.
In response, Antonín Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony, "From the New World", emerges in a new light.
