Integrating Jungian psychotherapy with Psychodrama

Overview
From a Jungian perspective, psychodrama offers a structured yet experiential way of working with unconscious material. Rather than staying only at the level of talking and insight, inner experiences are brought into action—allowing them to be seen, expressed, and gradually integrated.
Through core psychodrama methods such as role reversal, doubling, and mirroring, participants explore internal dynamics, relational patterns, and symbolic imagery in a lived and embodied way. The group provides a supportive container where both personal and shared human themes can emerge safely.
Working in action can support:
• Greater emotional awareness and expression
• Deepened self-reflection and insight
• Shifts in familiar relational or behavioural patterns
• Integration of disowned or less conscious aspects of self
• Increased flexibility and range in how clients respond to life
Learning Focus
Participants will:
- Gain an understanding of how psychodrama accesses and works with unconscious material
- Observe how key methods support expression, insight, and integration
- Experience the role of the group as a holding and supportive environment
- Explore ways these approaches may complement their current clinical work
