On November 7th, the Washington Women’s Chorale presents From Psalms to Prose: Poetry, Scripture & the Human Experience, a celebration of the many ways words become music. The program moves between sacred and secular texts, exploring poetry, scripture, love, family, faith, nature, and the human experience through the voices of diverse composers and arrangers. Featured works include “Nigra sum” by Pablo Casals, “Ubi Caritas,” arranged by Ola Gjeilo, and “On Children” by Ysaye Barnwell, along with many more. Continuing its commitment to music that is by, for, and about women, WWC celebrates the richness, diversity, and enduring power of the written word through choral music.
