About this Event
Most endurance athletes have more data than ever. Power meters, heart rate straps, lactate/VO2max tests and fitting reports all produce numbers, but knowing what to actually do with them is where most people get stuck.
Join the M20 Health & Performance and Run Bike Doc team in Altrincham for an evening on turning your training data into clear, practical decisions. Whether you’re training for your first sportive or the top step of a podium, you’ll leave knowing which numbers matter for you and how to use them.
What we’ll cover:
- Power and heart rate: what your data is really telling you, and how to use it to set zones and pace your sessions
- Lactate and VO2max testing: what these tests measure, and how lab results become training you can follow
- Strength testing with force plates and dynamometers: finding weaknesses and imbalances that hold back your performance and raise your injury risk
- Bike fitting: how your position affects the power you produce and how comfortable you stay over long hours in the saddle
Who it’s for:
Endurance athletes of every level. Most of the room will be cyclists and runners, with triathletes well represented too. No sports science background is needed.
Format:
We’ll spend the first hour on the topics above. We’ll then sit down for a round table and answer your questions, so bring your own data puzzles and anything you’ve always wanted to ask a group of three sports scientists.
Your speakers:
- Dr Adam Naylor: physiologist, bike fitter, endurance coach, sport rehabilitator, lecturer at Univeristy of Salford
- Ryan Gordon: strength and conditioning coach, sport rehabilitator
- Chinmay: ex-elite road cyclist, physiologist, bike fitter, endurance and strength & conditioning coach.
