About this Event
Ever wondered what it takes to build a career in finance, especially when you are the first in your family to do it?
Most advice about breaking into finance quietly assumes you already know someone. That you grew up around the language, the internships, the unwritten rules. Harpreet Kaur did not. She built her career from the ground up, and she is now an Officer in the Funds & Board Governance of Mutual Funds/ETFs team at State Street.
On November 11th, Women + In Business is hosting her for an honest conversation about how she got there.
We will talk about:
Financial literacy and the things nobody teaches you early enough.
What it actually takes to break into finance without a network.
Finding your place in an industry that can feel closed off from the outside.
The challenges she faced as a first generation professional, and how she worked through them.
The advice she wishes someone had given her on day one.
This is a conversation, not a lecture. Come with questions.
Whether you are set on a career in finance or just curious about what one looks like, there is something here for you. Food will be provided.
Follow Women + In Business on Instagram and LinkedIn to catch this and everything else we have coming up.
