Join us for this free artist talk!Hannah Walters, recipient of the Wakelin Award 2026 will discuss her practice and the works currently on display at Glynn Vivian Art Gallery.
Hannah is a Welsh ceramic artist based at Fireworks Studios in Cardiff. Inspired by time spent working in her family’s antique centre in Pembrokeshire, her practice reworks traditional objects, collections, and ideas of value through ceramics. Working primarily with porcelain, she creates sculptural and non-functional objects.
Hannah describes many of her pieces as “contemporary antiques”, objects that feel historic and newly formed. Her work has been exhibited across the UK, including at Collect, Artefact, and the Sculpture Trail at Craft Festival Wales.

Sgwrs artist Cyfeillion y Glynn Vivian gyda Hannah Walters
Ymunwch â ni ar gyfer y sgwrs artist am ddim hwn!
Bydd Hannah Walters, a dderbyniodd Gwobr Wakelin 2026, yn trafod ei harfer a’r gwaith sy’n cael ei arddangos yn Oriel Gelf Glynn Vivian ar hyn o bryd.
Mae Hannah yn artist cerameg o Gymru sy’n gweithio yn Fireworks Studios yng Nghaerdydd. Cafodd ei hysbrydoli gan yr amser a dreuliodd yn gweithio yng nghanolfan hen bethau ei theulu yn Sir Benfro, mae ei harfer yn addasu gwrthrychau traddodiadol, casgliadau a syniadau o werth trwy gerameg. Gan weithio gyda phorslen yn bennaf, mae hi’n creu gwrthrychau cerfluniol ac anweithredol.
Mae Hannah yn disgrifio sawl un o’u darnau fel “hen bethau cyfoes”, gwrthrychau sy’n teimlo’n hanesyddol ac yn newydd. Arddangoswyd ei gwaith ar draws y DU, gan gynnwys yn Collect, Artefact, a’r Llwybr Cerfluniau yng Ngŵyl Grefft Cymru.
Am ddim, croeso i bawb. Mae’n rhaid cadw lle.
